
Risqua Murtala Muhammed
Risqua serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the AMG Petroenergy Group, a position he has held since 2002. He is responsible for the direction and strategy of all of the company’s activities and plays a key role in the continued development of strategic relationships, ensuring that the group stays competitive in an increasingly demanding marketplace.
Prior to founding AMG Petroenergy, Risqua was Executive Director of Marketing & Business Development at Asset Management Group (AMG) and was part of building the firm’s consulting and advisory capabilities. He successfully led the company into real estate advisory, a business line, which has now become the bedrock of operations and till date remains the company’s most profitable division. Risqua also serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Murtala Muhammed Foundation, a non-profit organization, founded on the ideals of his father, Late Gen. Murtala Muhammed, a former Head of State of Nigeria (1975-76).
Risqua was also appointed by President Olusegun Obasanjo as his Special Assistant on International Relations from 2000 to 2002, Special Assistant on Privatization from 2002 to 2003, and Special Assistant on International Relations from 2003 to 2007.
Risqua earned a postgraduate diploma in Business from Cardiff Business School at the University of Wales and a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Lagos.
Risqua enjoys playing polo, working out and travelling.
